The intended positions are indicated, but they are not entirely strict. (Some open B naturals are allowed in the fifth-position passages.) There are no other left-hand fingerings, and this helps to promote improved reading skills.There are no stopped notes on the fifth or sixth string, and the light, open textures allow free movement of the simple melodies.
